A weekly books discussion and interview program featuring writers of contemporary fiction, nonfiction, memoir and poetry. Hosted by Santa Monica Review editor Andrew Tonkovich, this literary arts show features readings by and conversation with established and emerging authors. Recent guests have included California poet laureate Al Young (Something About the Blues) Michelle Latiolais (A Proper Knowledge), Paul Auster (Man in the Dark), Meg Wolitzer (The Ten Year Nap), Kevin Young (Dear Darkness), Paul Buhle (Jews and American Comics), Jonathan Miles (Dear American Airlines), Sarah Shun-Lien Bynum (Ms. Hempel Chronicles), Janelle Browne (All We Ever Wanted Was Everything), Jim Krusoe (Girl Factory), Rick Wartzman (Extreme in the Extreme). Tonkovich teaches in the Department of English at UC Irvine.
